Sat 20th April Summer qualifying open 57 pegs Magpie,jay and Raven lakes

A brilliant attendance and stunning weather for the Easter weekend 🐣 
Which makes a change from the usual wet and windy easter bank holiday weekends!

Magpie lake

Overall winner today was Matrix Backed Ross Harold from Magpie peg 12 he caught well shallow with pellets before catching well in the edges to book his place in the August final and take the outright match win! with 241.02lb
Runner up was Josh pace from peg 4 he caught on maggots in both edges and some pellet fish short to just edge ahead of MAP backed angler jason Collins who fished a very good match from peg 17 to finish on 205lb and 201lb respectively.

Jay Lake

Runner up overall and taking the jay lake win was Gavin Butler from peg 35 he fished tight over to catch 26 carp and a bonus 8lb barbel for 139.14lb runner up on the lake was Jimmy brooks from peg 27 he caught steadily on banded pellet shallow and some late edge fish for 119.12lb third on the lake was Tony watling snr from peg 31 catching on corn 🌽 for 108.00lb

Raven lake

3rd overall due to the continental payout and Raven lake winner was kings Lynn Based rod Adam Playford from peg 01 he alternated between the corner and tight over using maggots to finish with 94.14lb just ahead of Richard bond from peg 16 who finished with 91.13lb
Third on the lake leading a host of 70lb plus weight was Wayne shepherd from peg 09 who finished with 79.06lb

Next Saturday’s summer qualifying open is on Magpie and jay lake depending on numbers booking in is essential!

Easter Bank Holiday Monday Open Match Results

Blistering weather and superb fishing for the 43 anglers competing in the summer qualifying open on Magpie and Raven Lakes

With the warmer nights/mornings the fishing has really turned up a notch! Magpie is renowned for its big weights and it didn’t disappoint with 18 weights over 100lb and 5 over 200lb no surprise when the overall winner came from this lake.

Magpie lake

Norfolk angler Jack Gill was the only angler over the 300lb barrier who took the win from peg 03 using standard shallow tactics towards the Lilly pads and a few better fish on maggots in the margins later on!
Lake runner up was Adam Playford from peg 31 (£200 golden Peg) he mugged fish early before switching to the edges with maggots and damp micros to finish on 285.02lb
Third on the lake was Matrix backed Ben Townsend from peg 23 with 228.12lb

Raven Lake

Lake winner and second in The continental payout was Tom Edwards from peg 06 he caught mainly mirrors 2-3lb on pellets across and a very good last hour down his left hand edge to smash the lake with 161.02lb.
Next peg to tom was Mark cross who fished maggots down the track to finish with 130.08 to just finish ahead of Hot rods angler Neil Adcock from peg 29 he put 129.11 onto the scales
Of mainly small F1’s.
