The annual Rookery Water Christmas Match was attended by 39 anglers, with the field being split between Jay, Magpie and Raven lakes, with 13 anglers on each lake. The conditions were very settled and the temperature was 2 degrees above the average for the time of year, which made the match a very competitive affair, with a potential match winner coming from any of the lakes, based on a very strong field. Although the weather was far from seasonal, the cold nights still played a major factor in the tactics used, with the majority of anglers finding dobbing bread or maggot on the hook, fished on the long pole to be the way forward on all lakes, as low weights were the order of the day for all but a lucky few
